Special Education Degree Undergraduate/Graduate Programs at the University of Memphis

The University of Memphis offers course work in special education (SPED) at the undergraduate/graduate level. The Teaching All Learners (undergraduate) program leads to licensure in a K-12 (inclusive/resource) classroom and a regular elementary education (K-6) classroom. The SPED MAT program includes course work focusing on instructing students with special needs as well as best practice in evidenced based methodologies. The SPED MAT program is 100% online degree and provides the option of obtaining licensure. The Master of Science and EDS degree is available to individuals who are already licensed and want to expand their work in their teaching areas. It is also available to individuals without licensure who desire to work in education-related settings but do not need teacher licensure. The SPED Doctorate program at the University of Memphis is designed to allow professional educators an opportunity to obtain the advanced knowledge and skills required to become effective educational leaders in the field of Special Education.
